Counselling & Psychotherapy
Feeling worried or anxious? Can't shake a feeling of sadness? Or perhaps you keep getting angry?
Emotions are the mind's way of letting you know something needs your attention. But we can't always work out what that is. Or even if we do know, we mightn't know where to start.
Counselling & Psychotherapy helps you to listen to and understand what your emotions are telling you and work out what needs to be done.
Stephen uses a client-centred approach. You decide what issues are most important for you to discuss. He then helps you to safely explore those feelings and experiences associated with those issues. You move at a pace that feels right for you.
At the end of every session you will discover more of your own inner resources for caring for, nurturing and looking after yourself. You will have greater insight and awareness around your motivations, habits and emotions.
Expected outcomes of counselling & psychotherapy include a lightening of your emotional load, and greater happiness, clarity and fearlessness.
Stephen's therapeutic approach is informed by his study and practice of Mindfulness, the work of Carl Rogers (Person Centred Approach), Eugene Gendlin (Focusing) and Irvin Yalom (Existentialism), the approach of Psychosynthesis, and his own research on non-verbal interaction.
